WoW the gameplay used VERY little data flow at like 100kbps but a patch download can spike out at 5-10-20mbps, times every player, causes big draw on their ever shrinking and aging server supply. Why would DDOSing the people who work at Blizzard be something you'd do to help them? That'd be incredibly stupid. I think it was the latest thing where devs are whining on Twitter about RTO.
